Each year, the best new youth documentaries are screened in Kids & Docs. Especially made for children aged 9-13, but just as much fun for adults.

The aim of the Kids & Docs program is to stimulate the production and distribution of documentaries for young people. Every year Kids & Docs presents a selection of the best new international documentaries made for children aged 8-13.

In this way, IDFA tries to acquaint both the industry and the public with the genre and to stimulate its reception and production. During the festival, special screenings for primary school kids take place in the morning. This age group is also actively involved in documentary filmmaking through the Kids & Docs Workshop, a joint initiative of IDFA, Cinekid and the Dutch Cultural Media Fund.
