Annie Roney is the founder of ro*co films international with 20 years of experience in the international distribution of feature documentaries. In addition to international distribution, ro*co has opened a new educational distribution division - ro*co films educational, and its production arm has partnered with 1492 Pictures to identify documentaries for adaptation into feature films. In the Fall of 2012, ro*co will launch the worldwide online distribution of WE ARE LEGION, as a newly sanctioned iTunes distributor. The entire collection will be made available on iTunes thanks to the generosity of The Bertha Foundation. Since founding ro*co films in 2000, ro*co has represented award-winning docs including eight Oscar-nominated feature documentaries such as Born Into Brothels, Hoop Dreams, Jesus Camp, The English Surgeon, Pray the Devil Back to Hell, Gunner Palace, The Weather Underground, Promises, Street Fight, No End in Sight, The Devil Came on Horseback and Billy the Kid. ro*co’s credo of service and accountability to filmmakers has helped establish ro*co films, and its collection of films, as one of the most highly respected companies among buyers, commissioning editors and producers worldwide.

Rithy Panh to present Top 10 at IDFA Cambodian director Rithy Panh (1964, Phnom Penh) is to compile this year’s IDFA Top 10. Rithy Panh broke through in 2003 with his documentary S21, The Khmer Rouge Killing Machine. His new film, l’Image Manquante, features in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes film festival, which begins this week.
IDFA WorldView Summer School announces 2013 selection A total of 16 projects from participants all over the world have been selected for the sixth edition of the IDFA WorldView Summer School, which will take place July 1-6, 2013. The projects hail from 14 different countries and range from archive-driven narratives to stories shot in a cinema vérité style.
IDFA 2013 Film Entry now open! Submissions for IDFA 2013 can now be entered. Deadlines are May 1 (for documentaries completed before April 1) and August 1 (for documentaries completed after April 1).
