Mr. Debt

Errol Morris, USA, 2000
Synopsis

Waving his finger, lawyer Andrew Capoccia explains how unscrupulous moneylenders put their clients through the mill. This will not happen as long as this modern Robin Hood is around, this David who takes on that high-finance Goliath. Thanks to him, tens of thousands of debtors can submit a claim for compensation instead of paying their debts. He describes it as a crusade, but makes a handsome sum undertaking it. Smiling, he admits that some people see him as a piranha that helps fleece the desperate defaulters.
