Do It Yourself
Jean-Marie Sztalryd, Letmiya Sztalryd, France, 2010, color, HDcam, 59'
Synopsis
Ceaselessly destroying fashion only to reinvent it, Vivienne Westwood, one of the greatest designers of our time, has the soul of a revolutionary.
Our film will be structured around the slogans that have accompanied her creative endeavours since 1971.
These slogans, a series of war cries against conformity, will serve as our thread.
Vivienne Westwood has agreed to be filmed for a year, during the informal and the important moments of her life.
Neither a chronological history, nor a standard filmed biography relying on archive, our film aspires to be the equal of its subject: impertinent, vivid and scandalous.
