Get ready for the Women’s World Cup with 3 IDFA films about women and sports as selected by street football star Rocky Hehakaija, who hosted our screening of Freedom Fields at Cluppi on june 8.

Meet Rocky Hehakaija: world famous street footballer and director of Favela Street Foundation. She’s a true rock star, both on the field and off, and we were honoured to have her introduce our Women's World Cup film special.

To celebrate the start of the Women's World Cup, Rocky has selected 3 must-see films about women and sports from the IDFA online collection. Whether at school, in the water, or on the dance floor, these documentaries uplift us and smash stereotypes at the same time. This list is the perfect addition to Freedom Fields, in which female football players fight to play in a country where their sport is forbidden.

Check out Rocky’s motivation (in Dutch) for her three picks below, and watch the films in our online collection.
