With much excitement, we announce the appointment of Jenni Tuovinen as IDFA DocLab’s new Head of Operations. Working closely alongside Head of New Media Caspar Sonnen, Tuovinen will be responsible for DocLab’s business policy and finances, managing and streamlining the department, and overseeing the team’s day-to-day management.
A cherished member of the IDFA team for more than seven festival editions, Tuovinen steps into the new role after working as the Senior Producer at IDFA’s Markets since 2020, following previous production roles at IDFA Forum and the IDFA Bertha Fund. Prior experience includes work at The British Council, Festivals Edinburgh, and Finnish export bodies The Finnish Institute in the UK and Music Finland, as well as at film festivals across the UK.
Bringing her sector-building insight to the new role, Tuovinen will, in collaboration with Sonnen, lead DocLab’s R&D activities and network events during the festival and throughout the year, in addition to providing input on DocLab’s strategic artistic policy and annual plans. Other responsibilities include strengthening an interdisciplinary network around interactive and immersive media, recruiting and maintaining partnerships, and overseeing the implementation of DocLab’s personnel policy.
Amidst Tuovinen’s transition, our Industry department is looking for a new Senior Producer for our markets. Reporting to the Head of Industry, the candidate will be responsible for planning the full range of activities associated with IDFA Forum and Docs for Sale. See the vacancy.
