Watch Jonathan Harris' Master Talk

Interdisciplinary artist Jonathan Harris was IDFA's guest of honor this year. Watch the video of his Master Talk during IDFA 2017 at the top of the page.

Jonathan Harris is one of the most significant artists and innovators to emerge in the digital era. He has achieved widespread recognition for projects such as the interactive We Feel Fine, The Whale Hunt and I Love Your Work. Over the last decade or so, Harris has moved freely between visual art, data visualization, photography and interaction design.

In his Master Talk in front of a full house at the Tuschinski cinema in Amsterdam on November 19, Harris took the audience on a journey through his life and work. He reflected on his work and personal explorations of physical and digital reality. The presentation was followed by a short conversation with Jason Brush.

This event was part of the Jonathan Harris Documentary Top 10 and Retrospective program, presented by the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam in November 2017 and made possible by the Mondriaan Fund. The Master Talk was recorded in collaboration with the Institute for Sound and Vision.
