In this chronological, almost clinical inventory, film student Paloma Orlandini Castro uses image and word to examine the history of her sexual awakening—from her fascination as a five-year-old for a photographic artwork by Tracey Emin to the production of her own modular porno art in her 20s.

Through an operation at the age of eight and overheard conversations among family members—two of whom are sexologists—she encounters medical terms that open up new pathways in her consciousness, but at the same time impose categories and boundaries. Orlandini compares these terms with those used for porn video genres: simple words that say nothing about the conflicting feelings evoked by, for example, the intertwining of eroticism and power disparity. In her own explicit drawings, she creates space for experimentation and ambiguity, to ultimately return to that image that started it all.
