Ten-year-old Yedidiah lives with his parents and siblings in the Jewish settlement of Morag in the Gaza Strip. He has a strange hobby - he likes to collect shrapnel, bullet casings and other remnants of weapons. His collection gives an unpleasant picture of the bombardments that the colonists have been through in the years that they've lived there. Yedidyah doesn't let it get to him, though, and he plays with his friends to his heart's content. What he does worry more and more about is the imminent evacuation of Morag. All of the colonists have to move away, and where they will go is unclear. Yedidiah is scared of losing his parents, and of having to leave his friends, house and belongings behind. Then the day comes for them to evacuate. Soldiers arrive on the scene to remove the colonists from their homes. And if they refuse to go willingly, the soldiers won't hesitate to force them out.
