Festival history
‘I hear myself say things that she would say. And I feel that I will be doing the same things as she has done. In the future I will probably be exactly the same caring mother as she is‘. Says young Rhonda about her mother Pearl, who is about to get married for the second time. Three different combinations are the basis of this contagious documentary about the often problematic relationship between mother and daughter. Sabina and Shari are two extreme personalities whose relationship is filled with mutual disappointment and contrasting expectations. Ruth and Carline have trouble sharing their feelings, and in the case of Pearl, Rhonda and Heather the roles are reversed, because the mother is getting remarried and the daughter acts as a counsellor.
