Hans Bjorn Bakketeig (59) has set himself an ambitious goal: To give Moldova glasses. Serving as the only optometrist in Europe's poorest country, his work is troublesome. So far he has helped 10.000 Moldovans to a better life, but he is far from satisfied. Together with his good helper, Dr. Tatiana, their goal is to establish the first official low vision centre. But the problems are numerous. They need more office space, the political system is dysfunctional and leaders they have depended upon to reach their goal are sent to prison, accused of corruption.
