Festival history
Glen is a member of the Winnipeg city council. He is gay. He lives in the fast lane, is always in a hurry, and makes long days with an overfull agenda. You get the impression you are watching someone who wants to live as fully as possible in a short time. Fifteen of his best friends have died of AIDS or are in danger of dying of it. Mike, his adopted son, is a boy from the street, from the fringes of society. For a $20 bill he sexually satisfies middle-aged men. Mike acts straight from the shoulder. Not only does he prostitute himself, he is also on drugs. He knows a lot of pain, but pretends nothing can hurt him and if it does, so what... Mike and Glen met a few years ago, when Mike was setting up a youth club for street kids from a clinic. What Glen wants to give to Mike, the latter does not always want to accept: love, support, even hope. But anyway: they are a kind of family.
