Village X is a new documentary show consisting of four stories, each split into two 30-minute episodes. Each story follows an individual from the city as they travel into the countryside with a personal, yet controversial project, that will require the collaboration of the locals in order to succeed.

The pilot explores the topic of cultural appropriation when the owner of a Berlin fashion label visits the former coal-mining communities of the Lausitz. Jan-Henrik wants to create a new collection incorporating the traditional embroidery patterns of the Sorbs – a slavic minority, who fear their unique cultural tradition is on the verge of being lost forever.
