In 1995 two 26-year-old women from Hollywood made so bold as to make a film about the modern-day American society. On the off-chance they wrote letters to a large number of people to request them to co-operate. When they received positive reactions they bought two Hi-8 cameras and set out on an eight-month journey. They meet people like the notorious writer/journalist Hunter S. Thompson, they have a less agreeable encounter with the man who at the time was Bill Clinton‘s press officer, and they have a breezy chat with Robert Redford. What began as a film experiment gradually developed into a disarming road movie about the turbulent nineties.
