Village X is set in the village. The series poses the question: How can provinces be looked at from a new perspective? Without clichés about romantic country life on one hand and stories about unemployed people on the other. Village X thus goes right into the field of tension between town and country, which plays an important role for the future of Europe. Here the apparently progressive city dwellers, for whom social change cannot happen quickly enough, and there the apparently backward people from the provinces who are resisting the pull of necessary changes. Challenging and breaking these clichés in an entertaining way is the focus of the format.
