Attending IDFA 2020 online as an industry professional

With films, talks, and tons of other IDFA 2020 festivities available online, there was lots to do for accredited guests around the world. In the lead-up to the festival, we offered some guidance about navigating our online festival program, and what our guests needed to know for the best online experience.

Access meetings, events, and talks via the personalized homepage

The homepage is personalized during the festival this year. The content you see depends on your accreditation, so be sure to login with your MyIDFA for the best website experience. In general, you’ll find your upcoming meetings and events, your agenda, your favorites, and the latest news all on the homepage. Additionally, the quick navigation menu on the left side of the homepage directly links to the most relevant information for you.

Watch films in the Press & Industry Library

From November 18 until December 6, much of the IDFA 2020 selection is available online and on-demand for guests. Films will be only available in the Press & Industry Library once they have their in-cinema premiere in Amsterdam. You can access the Press & Industry Library through the quick navigation menu on the left side of the homepage, or simply scroll through the Program A-Z list and select a title.

Our scheduled online screenings (as shown in the program schedule) are geo-blocked due to distribution rights, so only visitors and accredited guests in the Netherlands can purchase a discounted ticket. For all international guests, the Press & Industry Library is the place to watch films.

Alongside the Press & Industry Library, we also offer a Talks Library where you can find recorded Industry Talks, Filmmaker Talks, and various Q&As after they’ve been live streamed. Starting November 20, new talks will be added regularly here, and almost everything will be available to view until December 6. You can find the Talks Library on our Industry Program page, or via the quick navigation on the left side of the homepage.

Experience new media projects and performances: do {not} touch

This year, IDFA DocLab and IDFA on Stage co-present do {not} touch, a special program to explore how artists reshape the art of reality as it moves between online and physical worlds. The program revolves around the pillars Immersive, Expo, and On Stage, and the majority of it can be viewed online worldwide. Take a look at the program and what can be experienced online on the do {not} touch page.
