International documentary co-financing and co-production market.
IDFA Forum is one of the largest and most influential meeting places for documentary filmmakers, producers, commissioning editors, funds, private financiers and other documentary stakeholders. IDFA Forum helps facilitate the financing of important, unique and ground-breaking creative documentaries, whether they are single docs, series or interactive and crossmedia projects.
Over the course of three days, approximately 50 carefully selected independent producer/director teams pitch their projects within different pitch set-ups, determined by subject matter, stage of financing and stage of development. The Forum organises a further 1000 one-on-one meetings between filmmaking teams and parties who express a strong interest in their project. Altogether this makes IDFA Forum one of the most important breeding grounds for new documentaries and an essential meeting place for independent documentary producers and filmmakers, financiers and stakeholders.
The Forum 2018 takes place from 18-21 November. The Rough Cut Screenings take place on 18 November and will be followed by three days of pitches and meetings.
IDFA Forum is made possible by The Netherlands Ministry Education, Culture and Science and Creative Europe Media
