IDFA Meets

IDFA Meets is an event series programmed for a new generation of documentary film lovers. Taking place both during the festival and throughout the year, IDFA Meets is curated in collaboration with different partners throughout the city. Every IDFA Meets event includes film screenings plus special programming like panel discussions, musical acts, performances or exhibitions.

    Previous events

IDFA Meets 2022 kicked off in May with IDFA Meets Tabili: Friends Request, a special event to reignite your social flame. Together with Tabili, IDFA Meets presented four heartfelt short films that celebrated the summery joy of platonic connections, plus an interactive side program to be enjoyed with friends.

On August 19th IDFA Meets and ROEF Amsterdam presented a perfect summer’s evening with an open-air screening of Acasã, My Home on the roof of the NEMO Science Museum while overlooking the Amsterdam skyline. Before the movie there was a performance by Otion.

During IDFA 2021 there were three IDFA Meets events: Narges Mohammedi, Nour Magazine and Young Amsterdam & Vooruit.

Previous IDFA Meets events were Complex Realities with freelance journalist Bo Hannah on the interplay between conflicting identity positions and finding nuance in times of division, and Before Summer Ends with ROEF!, which featured a roof-top screening at NEMO.
