Global film heritage: who decides?
Who decides what films get preserved? And on what grounds? This exclusive Industry Talk tackles the complex role of restoration and preservation in the documentary industry, and features expert guests Giovanna Fossati (Professor of Film Heritage & Digital Film Culture at UvA and Chief Curator at EYE) and Nikolai Izvolov (film historian at the Moscow Film Museum). Come see the Talk, and then check out the IDFA 2018 world premiere of the first feature-length documentary known to us today, the newly restored and never before seen The Anniversary of the Revolution by Dziga Vertov.
