For the sixth year in a row, IDFA organises its Queer Day, featuring five exceptional personal stories. The day kicks off with a video essay by queer artist Finn Paul, followed by a visit to Rio de Janeiro through the eyes of transgender icon Luana Muniz and a look into the life of Mexican wrestler Cassandro de Exotico. The day winds up with a portrait of performance artist Linn da Quebrada in Bixa Travesty with a live performance by Guillermo Blinker (OTION) and ends with an intimate portrait of a porn star in Jonathan Agassi Saved My Life followed by an extended Q&A with the director and Agassi himself. And in between these last two films, the audience is welcome at the Queer Drinks in the foyer of EYE.
Queer Day 2018 is organised in cooperation with media partner OUTtv, Europe’s gay lifestyle TV station. The program is also supported by club chUrch and Sauna Nieuwezijds.
