do {not} touch: Home is where the art is

To experience great art, music, or cinema, we are all programmed to leave the comfort of our own home in favor of a more grandiose and curated exhibition context—such as a museum, our favorite concert hall, or a movie palace like IDFA’s beloved Tuschinski theater. But what happens when these spaces are temporarily unavailable? When we’re stuck at home and crave to experience something we never experienced before? Join us online for an intimate event celebrating the magic of digital art in everyday spaces—from our kitchens and living rooms to the streets outside our house. With a.o. Lance Weiler (Where There’s Smoke), Darkfield Radio’s interactive two-person audio-play Visitors and a live performance lecture by DocLab Award winner Lauren Lee McCarthy (Later Date).

This event is part of the do {not} touch program, in which IDFA DocLab and IDFA on Stage explore how new media and performance artists are responding creatively to the challenges of 2020. Admission free, but registration is required to access the event online. Please note: to experience Visitors, you are required to purchase a separate ticket here.

Practical note: One hour before the event starts, you will receive a reminder by email. Go to idfa.nl and log in with your MyIDFA account. You will find do {not} touch: Home is where the art is on the homepage. From 20 minutes before the show starts, you can press the button ‘Participate’.
