DocLab Live Cinema Events
The most exciting and unpredictable nights of the program are undoubtedly the live cinema events. These one-off interactive evenings each approach a certain topic in their own style, ranging from interactive showcases to experimental multimedia performances with live music and contributions from the audience.
Over the past few years, DocLab has succesfully experimented with new formats for digital live performances and screenings of interactive media art. During each festival edition a series of live events is presented, in which various disciplines come together in crossover programs, making their work tangible and collectively sense-able. Each night offers ample room for discussion between the audience, creators and experts, both during the events and afterwards. The Live Cinema Events are developed in close collaboration with partners, both international and Dutch, which in the past have included Moniker, NFB, MIT, ARTE France, Radio in the Dark, Al Jazeera and The Skin Deep.
We try to find the best way to create a collective experience for each project. The overview below gives an idea of the many forms of presentation which we have used in the past, but we start out each year with the same idea: anything is possible.
