Synopsis

PETER IS GONE tells the story of Peter Beentjes who went missing on the Dutch island of Texel in 1987. For thirty years, Toos Beentjes has been trying to uncover the truth about the mysterious disappearance of her homosexual brother in vain. The police never saw any reason to investigate. 'He will wash ashore and if not, the tourists on the island will surely find him.' The film is not a search for Peter Beentjes, but reveals the anatomy of his disappearance. The story before and after he went missing. About the Kafkaesque world Toos Beentjes entered after her brother disappeared. The world of nonchalance and a ramshackle police investigation.
