20 Feb - 8 Mar: Sonic Acts Biennial 2026
Description

From 20 February to 8 March 2026 part of Sonic Acts Biennial 2026 will take place at Het Documentaire Paviljoen. The Biennial runs from 5 February to 29 March 2026 across Amsterdam, connecting a wide range of artistic practices. Under the theme Melted for Love – inspired by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish and exploring home, belonging, and resilience in a world where safety and security can no longer be taken for granted– this year’s programme brings together experimental sound, immersive audiovisual works, performances, and films.

Exhibition: Sounds of Skies, Forests of Instability
The exhibition Sounds of Skies, Forests of Instability brings together two newly commissioned installations by Dutch-based and internationally renowned artists Femke Herregraven and Sébastien Robert, inviting audiences into immersive environments in which human and non-human forces remain closely entangled. Herregraven’s The Evacuated simulates a mutating Dutch forest where memory becomes volatile and time loops and rewrites itself, while Robert’s All But Silent weaves scientific measurement, field research and Indigenous cosmologies to explore the sonic dimensions of the Northern Lights.

Artist Talks & Screenings
Alongside the exhibition, the programme at Het Documentaire Paviljoen features artist talks with Femke Herregraven and Sébastien Robert on Sunday 22 February, as well as two special film screenings on Friday 6 and Sunday 8 March
