Live Coding Sessions is back at Het Documentaire Paviljoen. In its tenth edition, Live Coding Sessions explores how live coding can be used for storytelling and world-building in real time, combining code, sound, and visuals. Storytelling is approached not as a fixed script, but as an evolving space where meaning unfolds through systems, rhythm, and transformation.
The artists present at Live Coding Sessions #10 are Flor de Fuego, Roger Pibernat, Ali Eslami and Shahin Entezami. Flor is a digital-craft artist who will be experimenting with live coding 3D worlds. Roger Pibernat is an illustrator and live coder who improvises animated collages in live performances. Ali and Shahin are award-winning collaborators performing live together for the first time with the work-in-process project ESHRAQ, a modular computational model.
What is Live Coding?
At live coding events, music and visuals are generated live through code. The DJ and VJ are coders who adjust rhythm, pitch, and visuals in real time by writing and modifying algorithmic compositions. All code is projected on a large screen, making the creative process visible and allowing the audience to become part of the performance.
