Festival history
represents a chance to see some of our planet's most beautiful animals and a first encounter with environments that have never before been filmed. takes the audiences on a journey around the planet, using the seasons as our guide and three engrossing character storylines. The three main characters characters: polar bear, elephant and humpback whale, show the hardships faced by creatures whose lives are dominated by a migratory existence in a world that is fast changing. A story played out billions of times a day, 365 days a year, as the Earth moves through the seasons, every living creature bending to the power of the Sun. sets out to tell the story of our planet, they chose the sun as their guide. The journey begins close to the North Pole, where there are 24 hours of darkness during winter. Early in the film we learn that the sun can be both a blessing and a curse. While its warmth is welcome, it also starts to melt the landscape in which the characters have made their home.
