Kurt Hellström is an odd individual. He is a nuisance to the Swedish authorities because he refuses to obey the law. He does not fill in any tax form. People consider him an alcoholic.
Film-maker Erik Strömdal followed Hellström and discovered an interesting aspect of this remarkable man. One day, they were sitting on the same bus and Strömdal noticed Hellström peeling an electric lead, carefully sorting the plastic and the copper into plastic bags. Later on, Strömdal found out that Hell-ström's basic view is that nothing - human or material - is rubbish, everything is worth something. He had moved from a ramshackle cottage, where he had lived for 20 years, to a fashionable Stockholm suburb, where he is still living with his collection and 'chauffeur'. He paid for his newly bought house in cash.
