Volverium
Technology is increasingly defining how we look at the world. Like it or not, we are allowing our lives to be guided by algorithms that filter what we see. In Volverium, the artist Thijs Biersteker dares us to leave our information bubble. In his interactive art installation, which balances on the cusp of kinetic art, VR and augmented reality, he asks us in a friendly but firm manner to step out of our little world.
This disorienting dreamworld is situated in a planetarium where we get the opportunity to pose existential questions. Has the lure of technology drawn us ever further from our authenticity, our humanity? What would the world look like if technology and nature were in perfect balance? Live psychedelic sounds created by Dutch multi-instrumentalist Jacco Gardner make sure this VR experience gets through to all the senses.
