Festival history

The notion ‘killer boots’ is used frequently in Sweden for a specific type of shoes with steel toes. The shoes are fairly big and the thick soles give the owner the feeling that he is floating over the asphalt. The film contains a somewhat curious mixture of a pseudo-scientific analysis of the production process of the shoes and comments by the young and often extremely violent buyers. Apart from the shoes, the human head also plays an important role in this short film. The head as a container for our brains and consciousness, but also as a cherished ball-shaped object to kick against. According to director Kjell-Ake Olson his film particularly stresses the consequences of violence, not so much the violence itself. Sometimes the images and voice-overs give the film a poetical character.
