Festival history
In Mongolia, when a family wants to move, they simply take their house with them. The enormous tent in which Mongolians live can easily be taken apart, and almost everything is done by hand. MY GRASSLAND follows a Mongolian family through their daily routines, seen through the eyes of their small son. He helps his mother preparing butter, in the evening they play charades, and in the morning they lark about with the dog, until the children are put on the bus that will take them to their distant school. The panoramic grassy plains are impressive, but recently the landscape has become interspersed with a number of drilling rigs. For the rest, nothing much changes; the seasons glide by, from the birth of the first lambs to the fun of ice-skating.
