Wim Wenders about Already at the beginning of the shooting, Ray was seriously weakened by illness. That is why his film has mainly become a film of Wenders about Ray. The film hovers between befitting curiosity and an invasion of Ray's privacy. How merciless a camera can be is shown in a scene when Ray, after having spoken, has nothing more to say. Wenders asks him to give the word, whenever he wants to stop. Ray answers: "", Wenders says. So the camera keeps on shooting. A minute later Wenders decides to stop, anyway.
