Powrot ststku

A documentary film which was shot on board of the S.S. Batory on its return voyage from America to Gdynia in Poland. The passengers are Americans of Polish origin who come to visit their mother country. Marzynski is a filmmaker who works according to the principles of the cinéma vérité. As a former radio-, TV- and press-reporter he thinks it important not to intrude upon reality. The film camera takes over the role of the human eye, on the understanding that in the case of a camera the various elements of the film structure can deliberately be selected, and that later on the chronology can be altered.
