Christian, an artist from Windsor, Ontario, is being forced to move. His canvases used to sell before the paint was dry, whereas now he has to survive on just $100 a week. Jay and Gino, who run the successful Noi restaurant in Ontario, completely renovated it to make it appear less exclusive. In this way, they hope to adapt to the new atmosphere prevailing since the economic crisis. GDP: Measuring the Human Side of the Canadian Economic Crisis assesses the effects of the crisis through the individual stories of Canadian employers and employees rather than through news footage of mass demonstrations. How have their lives changed and what strategies are they using to beat the crisis? Visitors to the website can access the stories through a map of Canada containing locations with relevant films, stories, and photo reportages. The site also allows searches based on industry sector, such as Arts & Media, Finance, or Farming. The content reveals that these people still have plenty of fighting spirit left.
