Festival history
The 26-year-old Sarah Kelly assisted in the independent film productions KILLING ZOE, SLEEP WITH ME and PULP FICTION. All this resulted in her mentor Quentin Tarantino asking her to do a ‘making of’ of his co-production FROM DUSK TILL DAWN (1995). The film, starting as a violent road movie but suddenly changing into ‘hard-core horror’, was directed by Roberto Rodriguez. Tarantino acted as script writer, actor and executive producer. ‘Kinda like HEARTS OF DARKNESS... but not that dark’, is how the comical report of the ten-week shooting period was called. We get to see not only the stars George Clooney, Juliette Lewis and Quentin Tarantino, but also many production assistants who tell about the ‘ins and outs’ of coffee cups, fan mail and romances on the set.
