Festival history

There are children who are born behind bars: in the children's home of a prison. Their mothers are in a correction colony and are allowed to attend to their children only during certain periods of time, to feed and see them.
In a way, many of these women cannot be called 'mother' in its true sense. For some of them having a child in the colony is just a way to ease their living conditions. They try to get rid of their children as soon as they are released.
Lev Tolstoy once wrote this statement by John Reskin in his notebook: "How very horrible the world would be if children were not born all the time to bring innocence and a chance for improvement." However, they should not be born and start their lives behind barbed wire.
