The city of Beer Sheva is situated in the south of Israel. Just outside the citystands the most disreputable prison of the country. The inmates call it 'living hell'. In1991 there was an uprising among the prisoners because prison commander RonLevkovich was planning to tighten up discipline. Two years later, Shlomo Tweezersucceeded Levkovich as prison commander. The changing of the guard causes newcommotion among the prisoners, who talk about themselves as 'walking Scudmissiles'. However, it is soon clear that Tweezer was cast in another mould than hispredecessor: he stresses the need for dialogue with the inmates and he believes inafter?care and resettlement. Filmmaker Amit Goren stayed six months in the BeerSheva prison. The film follows a few prisoners with widely divergent characters andbehaviour and it gives an acute description of prison life.
