Buying brides from the poor and underprivileged classes of different cultures than their own by grooms from the state of Haryana, has become commonplace. Female foeticide does away with the girlchild within the haryanvi community leading to an absurd death of women in this society. The bride bought by a family is shared by many men, forced to work like a menial slave during the day, and a sex slave at night in complete violation of not only women's rights but human rights as well.
