Checklist for IBF Europe Entry

    The entry form for IBF Europe Distribution support is available through MyIDFA. There is no deadline; the fund accepts proposals continuously until October 2021, or until the maximum available grants have been allocated.

    The entry form for IBF Europe Co-production support will be online in February 2022 again. The submission deadline is April 1, 2022.

    All fields of the entry form are mandatory and the entry form cannot be submitted without filling in all details. All information must be provided in English.

    Please note:

    • The entry form will log out automatically when not used for 2 hours. Please be sure to save the form if you are not able to finish it within this time period.
    • If you press 'next' in the entry form it will save the previous page of your entry, and you can come back later to it. Also at the end of the form you have the choice to save it all or submit right away.

    IBF Europe Co-production – How to proceed

    • Read the Regulations to see if your project meets the basic criteria.
    • Complete an entry form in MyIDFA. The entry form includes
      • the basic details of the project
      • list of crew members
      • logline (50 words)
      • synopsis (400 words)
      • project description (1,100 words), which can include the visual approach, director’s statement, background information, details about protagonists, information about access to protagonists and locations, et cetera
      • story outline
      • biographies of the filmmakers and producers
      • link to audiovisual materials (trailer, demo, edited sequence)
      • paragraph from the applying producer explaining their involvement in the project
      • distribution strategy
      • production schedule
      • track record of the applying producer(s); this Excel sheet is also available in the entry form
    • Upload the following documents in your entry form:
      • a complete production budget and finance plan, indicating the status of other funding sources; this Excel sheet is also available in the entry form
      • a signed co-production agreement
      • an extract of registration (no older than six months), clearly indicating the applicant's company's name, the address of its head office, its year of establishment, and ownership
    • Post audiovisual material from the project on Vimeo or YouTube. This could be a trailer, an edited sequence or an introduction to the subject or subjects and has to have a minimum length of 3 minutes.
      • If the project is in the post-production phase it is recommended to send an edited sequence or rough cut with a minimum length of 20 minutes.
      • The video must be in English or have English subtitles.
      • All videos must remain online for at least two months following the deadline.
      • If possible, please allow for free viewing of the material (no password required).
      • Fill out the link in the entry form OR send the link to idfaberthafund@idfa.nl.

    IBF Europe Distribution - How to proceed

    • Read the Regulations to see if your project meets the basic criteria.
    • Complete an entry form in MyIDFA. The entry form includes:
      • basic details of the project
      • list of crew members
      • logline (50 words)
      • synopsis (400 words)
      • project description (1100 words)
      • biography of the filmmakers and producers
      • link to audiovisual materials (picture lock or final cut)
      • a paragraph from the applicant explaining involvement in the project
      • distribution schedule
      • track record of the applicant; this Excel sheet is also available in the entry form
      • other partners expected to be involved (sales agents, distributors, broadcasters, VOD partners, event organizers and/or outreach partners)
    • Upload the following documents in your entry form:
      • complete distribution budget and finance plan using the provided excel sheet (which is also available in the entry form)
      • a separate marketing and distribution plan for each territory (which can include internet, VOD, other digital platforms and/or outreach campaigns, theatrical release, television, event screenings and festivals)
      • a signed co-production agreement and final finance plan indicating the share division and confirming that the producers from a Media sub-program countries together have a share of 20-70%
      • an extract of registration (no older than six months), clearly indicating the applicant’s company name, the address of its head office, year of establishment, and ownership
      • agreement indicating the applicant is a rights holder or the coordinator of a consortium of rights holders
      • 3 letters of commitment of the three partners in three different territories
        OR
      • 1 selection letter for the WP at one of the major festivals mentioned in the regulations and 2 letters of interest of two partners in other territories
    • Post the rough cut, offline picture lock or final cut of the documentary on Vimeo or YouTube.
      • The video must be in English or have English subtitles.
      • All videos must remain online until a decision on the application has been communicated to the applicant.
      • Fill out the link in the entry form OR send the link to idfaberthafund@idfa.nl.
