How to attend do {not} touch

    Practical information about attending the do {not} touch program, whether at home or at a festival location.

    There's lots of ways to experience do {not} touch, the special program co-presented by IDFA on Stage and IDFA DocLab. The program largely takes place online, but there are experiences and performances you can visit in Amsterdam wherever possible. Check this page for an overview of what you can do where, and how.

    If you're online...

    In the spirit of creativity and experimentation, a variety of online platforms are home to do {not} touch, including, a new experimental social platform, and more. Everything online has been made available worldwide.

    Live online performances and events

    Most live performances and all live events are taking place online and are available both within and outside the Netherlands.

    *Online live events combining artist talks, interactive experiments and short performances around a central theme.

    Online exhibition

    The do {not} touch exhibition is happening online and has been made freely accessible worldwide. Discover different documentary artworks in our online exhibition space do {not} play, a new experimental social platform that can only be experienced in Google Chrome on a desktop computer or laptop. No ticket or reservation required.

    Projects for your smartphone with headphones

    You can experience Motto at home or outside for free at anytime, with your own smartphone and headphones. No ticket or reservation is required.

    If you're on-site in Amsterdam...

    do {not} touch is also programmed at various physical locations in Amsterdam. When cinemas, theaters, and other festival locations re-open again on November 19, a number of projects in our program can be experienced on location. All on-site programming is organized with comprehensive health and safety measures, for maximum 30 people per show. For the shows and experiences below, tickets must be purchased online. Ticket sales will begin in alignment with the re-opening of the locations.


    Selected virtual reality projects can be experienced at Tolhuistuin, ranging from Virtual Reality films & experiences to special live Virtual Reality performances. Tolhuistuin is also where you can join the interactive audio walk In Order of Disappearance.

    If you have a VR headset...

    Free and paid experiences on Viveport

    If you have a Virtual Reality headset and a VR-ready PC at home, you can experience these selected VR films & experiences through VIVEPORT from the 20th of November. They have been made available both within and outside the Netherlands. You can use any of these headsets: VIVE, VIVE Pro, VIVE Pro Eye, VIVE Cosmos, VIVE Cosmos Elite, Valve Index, Oculus Rift and Oculus Rift S, and Oculus Quest and Quest 2, both with Oculus Link cable.

    VR performances

    If you have an Oculus Quest, you can experience All Kinds of Limbo, XR broadcast wherever you are. This performance has been made available worldwide. Make sure to book a ticket for this live VR performance.

    If you have a Vive or Rift, you can experience Camp Century. This performance is also available within and outside the Netherlands. Book a ticket through this link.
