Through TalentScope Documentaire, the Netherlands Film Fund aims to stimulate the growth opportunities of Dutch documentary talent. During a curated and personalized program lasting 12 months, filmmakers focus on deepening their authorship. Together with a curator appointed by IDFA, a foundation is laid for the development of a new documentary plan that distinguishes itself in its originality, boldness, and relevance.

Last year, Luuk Bouwman and Marina Meijer were selected for the talent development program. Meijer won a Gouden Kalf in 2020 for her short documentary Carrousel, and Bouwman won an IDFA award two years in a row, for The Propagandist and Gerlach. His film The Desert of the Real premiered at the last edition of IDFA.
