Chongqing is the fastest growing metropolis in China. Chinese hip hop was very popular for a short while, until authorities decided to crack down on underground culture. Against this background, filmmaker David Verbeek portrays young female singer Lil Ya and her band, who struggle to find their freedom of expression. In a moody, poetic landscape of alleys, hang-outs and skyscrapers, we also encounter Chinese hip hop legends 'Mr. Dark' and 'Ghostism'.
