IDFA calls for release of Mohammad Rasoulof

IDFA joins film festivals and organizations around the world in demanding the immediate and unconditional release of Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof. We invite members of the film community around the world to join by raising their voice – personally, collectively, through the media and via political channels.

Through his films, Rasoulof has been telling a critical story of his home country, for which he has already been repeatedly censored and imprisoned. His most recent films include GOODBYE, MANUSCRIPTS DON'T BURN and A MAN OF INTEGRITY, none of which have been released in Iran.

The director, living in Hamburg and Tehran, was sentenced to a year in prison this July 23rd by the Iranian Revolutionary Court. He is also banned from leaving the country and participating in any social or political activity for two years. We demand his immediate and unconditional release and invite our colleagues around the world to join us.
