Making friends is hard to do after so much time apart, but IDFA Meets and Tabili are here to help. On Thursday, May 19 at FC Hyena, we kick off the sunny season with a special event to reignite your social flame. Together with Tabili, IDFA Meets presents four heartfelt short films that celebrate the summery joy of platonic connections, plus an interactive side program to be enjoyed with friends, old and new. Tickets are now on sale through FC Hyena.
Alongside drinks, music, ice cream and speed-friending games, this IDFA Meets event will screen four short summertime films about friendship in all its forms. Come flex your unused social muscles and warm up for the sunny season as we gather to discuss and reflect on the value of friendships, what kind of friend you are, and what kind you aim to be. Maybe you’ll even meet your new bestie?

Tabili brings back the table: a place of human gathering, nourishment, connection, openness, vulnerability, cultural exchange, knowledge enhancement, growth, and awareness. Tabili aims to reunite people with the symbolic meaning of the table, the meal, and gathering around the table. We organize and host dinners, gatherings, and events that connect food, people, and the table around specific themes and topics. Whether it’s our food, conversational topics, research zines, panel discussions, question cards, rituals, or other exhibitions—all are carefully curated to enhance and stimulate the essence of the table, so that at Tabili, everyone feels like they have a seat at the table.
