On August 15th, 2021, the fall of Kabul impacted Etilaat Roz, a daily newspaper with about 50 employees. Etilaat Roz has won the 2020 World Anti-Corruption Award. Zaki Daryabi, as Etilaat Roz leader, decided to have more active coverage of civil protests against Taliban rule in Kabul. A disaster happened. Five members of Etilaat Roz were arrested. Two of them got severely tortured by the Taliban. Zaki proved to the world how far the Taliban's claims and promises are from reality.
