Wladimir ‘Wally‘ Tax (50) used to have thousands of girls chasing him, in 1966 he played the Rolling Stones off the stage in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, he repeatedly became a millionaire and was given to liquor and drugs for a long time. Today, the former singer of the Amsterdam beat group The Outsiders is mainly addicted to freshly baked apple pie. This final examination film of the Amsterdam Film Academy follows Tax during the final farewell concert of The Outsiders last spring. The band deserves ‘a decent funeral‘, Tax feels. ‘We should put a permanent stop to it.‘ The band had already disintegrated after years of (inter)national success, after which Tax concentrated on a solo career. It was a failure, and he became addicted. In this period, his girlfriend Mette ‘probably saved his life‘. The documentary contains a lot of archive footage of The Outsiders and images of Tax talking about his melancholy character and the cold sorrow he has to bear.
