One in five people living in Lebanon is a Syrian refugee wandering in the fields and the streets, living in garages and abandoned habitats. There are camps for Palestinians; Lebanon is like an open camp for Syrians. The project is a series of Syrian refugee’s portraits that compose a filmic mosaic of the fractures and the paradoxes of the region.
The Other Side
Although after the peace agreements the war between the FARC and the colombian state seemed to be over, the situation is far from stable. In this complex political climate, director Guarnizo and his brother begin to research the kidnapping of their mom. When they find the diary she was allowed to write during her captivity, they discover an almost mother/child relationship she had with her captor. Now that most of them have surrendered their weapons and are trying to begin a new life, the brothers set to find the captor and maybe speak about that dark time in their lives.
The Billion Dollar Road
Since two decades, the victims of the Six-Day War have been fighting in Kisangani for the recognition of this bloody conflict and demanding compensation. Tired of unsuccessful pleas, they have finally decided to voice their claims in Kinshasa, after a long journey on the Congo River.
