How does technology shape our perception of reality? How does it affect our bodies or the places we inhabit? How does it change human behavior or the way we tell stories? As part of the theme program Domesticating Reality, this year’s DocLab Exhibition explores the nature of physical space in computational times. It runs from 22 Nov-1 Dec.
Over thirty immersive artworks, virtual reality experiences, and AI experiments will be exhibited at this year's new, main venue Tolhuistuin. With new works by Vincent Morisset, Sanne De Wilde, Ali Eslami, Tabitha Rezaire, Hsin-Chien Huang, Moniker, and a series of video installations by Forensic Architecture, presented as part IDFA's focus program It Still Hurts. Don’t miss the immersive theater experiment Artificial: Room One by Ontroerend Goed (only from 23–27 November) or the mesmerizing audio walk Only Expansion by Duncan Speakman.
Admission to the DocLab Exhibition is free. Certain projects and the daily guided tours require an on-site reservation. Our additional exhibitions (all within walking distance from Tolhuistuin) include the immersive Ayahuasca Exhibition at Eye (ticket required), and the pop-up exhibitions and DocLab VR Cinema (ticket required) at Lil’ Amsterdam inside Central Station.
