Snapshots In Concert
08.07.2026 - 16.08.2026
A front-row seat to an iconic live performance is rare, but a concert film comes close.
This summer, Het Documentaire Paviljoen presents five legendary artists captured at defining moments in their careers. Spanning soul, rock ’n’ roll, glam rock, avant-garde pop, and hip-hop, these films are more than spectacular performances—they are snapshots of their time, shaped by the culture, politics, and atmosphere in which they took place.
David Bowie serves a hallucinatory collage of ’70s kitsch. Aretha Franklin turns a Los Angeles church into a transcendent Sunday service. Björk conjures a mesmerizing world where music and nature intertwine. As the Rolling Stones play through the fading dream of the peace-and-love era, Stromae brings us back to the present, accompanied by a robotic dog.
