About Café Vertigo
Café Vertigo takes its name from the film café that operated here in the 1990s, when the building housed the Filmmuseum. It was named after Alfred Hitchcock’s 1958 classic Vertigo. It grew into a much-loved gathering place in the basement of the building. The atmosphere reflects different layers of its history, including references to Au Caveau, the nightclub that once stood here in the 1920s.
Today, Café Vertigo continues to be a lively meeting place in Het Vondelparkpaviljoen.
