We Are In The Future / Sapodilla is a dynamic double-bill event celebrating the vibrant world of Afrofuturism. Part two of the evening brings you Sapodilla. 

Inaugurated in 2022, Sapodilla is DARKMATTER’s signature dance event, aiming to redefine the club experience by embracing marginalized voices, empowering communities, and broadening the scope of clubbing into a richly interdisciplinary, educational, and artistic journey. celebration.

For this evening, local favorite and DARKMATTER Collective collaborator LYLO will join forces with Rotterdam-based sonic futurist Faustin to transform Het Documentaire Paviljoen into an Afrofuturist club.

LYLO is renowned for her high-energy performances, seamlessly navigating genres such as House, Detroit Techno, Hard Groove, UK Funky, Baile Funk, Acid, and bass-heavy percussive sounds.

Faustin, a Dutch/Antillean artist and researcher, uses sound to explore the complexities of identity and emotion. His DJ sets blend deep, percussive sounds with futuristic elements, inviting introspection, escape, and connection. He has been a standout presence on the Netherlands' top queer dance floors, including SPIELRAUM, POING CLUB, De School, Garage Noord, and CLUB RAUM, where he currently holds a residency.
